Julie Larkin is an entrepreneur, coach, and storyteller. Through founding and fostering Girl Talk, she is most passionate about building a sisterhood of self-worth. Girl Talk began for Julie in college, when she noticed the women in her residence hall experiencing loneliness, worthlessness, and shame. To combat this crisis of self-worth, Julie hosted her first Girl Talk Coffeehouse in 2012. Over the years, Julie continued to develop the Girl Talk concept and model, and by 2015, established Girl Talk as a non-profit organization. In the 5 years since its founding, Girl Talk programming has taken on a variety of forms, ranging from content for girls in middle school to college women to mothers, all with the same message: you are enough, you are worthy, you are loved. Julie speaks to a variety of audiences on entrepreneurship and authenticity, and coaches young professionals to master their motivations. On today’s episode, we’ll speak with Julie about the Girl Talk story, the importance of mentorship, plus the best piece of advice she’s ever received as an entrepreneur!
